Bill Jewell traveled to Paris in 1988 to paint a watercolor of La tour Eiffel in recognition of the upcoming 100th anniversary the following year, 1989. The original watercolor was painted on location, on a full sheet of Arches Watercolour Paper (22” x 30”). Upon completion, Bill went to Mourlot Imprimeur to publish an edition of 275 twelve-color lithographs. The Mourlot Imprimeur was the same printshop engaged by Picasso for over four hundred lithographs, and served many other world-renown Artists; the Mourlot studios closed in Paris in 1999, however each Bill Jewell print features an original Mourlot Imprimeur stamp.

Bill Jewell is a self-taught, dedicated watercolor, acrylic, and oil painter who has painted as a sole source of income for over 40 years. Bill has traveled throughout the US and worldwide to paint scenery using his unique color transitions and silhouettes.
